MakeShift

make shift MakeShift

A very cool project by Natalie Purschwitz, owner/designer of Hunt and Gather in Vancouver . For one whole year she plans to wear only things she has made herself. That means, bras, socks, shoes, winter boots, coats, bathing suits, and accessories (sunglasses, included).

The project started Sept. 1st so she’s only a few days in, but as the weather cools off it’ll be interesting to see how creative she gets. You can follow the project through her blog makeshiftproject.blogspot.com/ and those of you in Vancouver can even visit her showroom at 8 E. Cordova, to see her latest creations.

“MakeShift is an art and research project that examines the relationships between ‘making’, ‘clothing’ and ‘living’. The basic premise for the project is that for a period of one year starting on September 1st, 2009, I will only wear things that I have made myself.”
