I know it seems far to early to be thinking about Christmas already, but I wanted to share these adorable custom hand-drawn holiday cards. Lisa Mundorff is the fabulous illustrator behind Dear Ida, a custom greeting card site run by a group of Portland based friends.
For years, instead of sending out the traditional photo cards featuring her kids, Lisa has been creating hand-illustrated cards, featuring colourful drawings of her and her husband Brian’s children. Year after year, their cards have been such a hit with friends and family, that they decided to share the love — and created Dear Ida.
The premiss is quite simple… you browse the site and chose your favourite background, then upload photos of your kids, pets, etc… then Lisa creates custom illustrations of your family to add the the background. It’s amazing how personal they feel even when using the same backgrounds.
The cards are run on an offset press at a small, local, Portland printer on heavyweight felt paper stock. The finished size of the cards is 9″ x 4″ and includes matching kraft envelopes. Because each order is custom created, printed and packaged it can take up to two weeks before they’re shipped — which is why I’m telling you early! If you’re looking for unique and personal holiday cards definitely check out Dear Ida.
